2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup

The 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World cup is the 10th FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup which is the biennial international Women’s youth tournament scheduled to be held from 10 August to 28 August.

The 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup is hosted by Costa Rica, which would have hosted the 2022 edition also that edition was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s Costa Rica’s second time hosting a FIFA tournament after the 2014 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

Japan is the defending champion in the previous match 2018 tournament, and United States with the most successful team in the FIFA U-20 tournament.

Qualified teams

As Costa Rica is automatically qualified because of the host country, 15 teams qualify from six continental competitions.

  • AFC (3 teams):- Australia, Japan, South Korea.
  • CAF  (2 teams):- Ghana, Nigeria
  • CONMEBOL( Host + 3 teams):- Costa Rica, Canada, Mexico, United States.
  • OFC(1 team):- New Zealand.
  • UEFA (4 team):- France, Germany, Netherlands, Spain.
Venues

For 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup there are two host cities will be used.

  • Alajuela :- Estadio Alejandro Morera Soto (Capacity :-17,895)
  • San Jose:- Estadio Nacional (Capacity:- 35,175)

The official emblem and slogan were unveiled on 10 August 2021, one year before the start of the tournament.
Vamos juntas” by Isabella Castro, Rebeca Malavassi, Tony Succar, and the female choir of the Franz Liszt Schule served as the tournament’s official song. (Produced and composed by Costa Rican artist Jorge Castro).
