FIFA, short for Fédération Internationale de Football Association, is the international governing body for association football, futsal, and beach soccer. It oversees the organisation and promotion of major football tournaments globally, including the FIFA World Cup.
The Home of FIFA is its distinctive headquarters located in Zurich, Switzerland. This facility serves as the central hub for the operations of the organisation. As a globally recognised body, FIFA currently has 211 member associations.
FIFA was founded on 21 May 1904 in Paris, France, with founding members including Belgium, Denmark, France, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland. The organisation operates in four official languages: English, French, German, and Spanish. A total of 103 staff members are employed at FIFA’s headquarters.
FIFA has reported overall revenues exceeding 1.3 billion USD, with net profits surpassing 72 million USD. The current President of FIFA is Gianni Infantino, who has previously served as the General Secretary of UEFA since 2009.

About FIFA World Cup
The 2022 FIFA World Cup was held in Qatar from 20 November to 18 December 2022. 32 teams competed across 64 matches in the 22nd edition of the tournament. Argentina won the ensuing penalty shoot-out 4–2 to win their third World Cup, beating France in a penalty shootout after a breathless 3-3 draw, and first since 1986.
The Football World Cup 2018 World cup was held in Russia, and France won the trophy. The 2018 FIFA World Cup was the 21st World Cup, and a total of 32 teams participated in 12 venues. It was held in Russia from 14 June to 15 July 2018.
