Joao Pedro’s debut brace was the highlight, propelling Chelsea into the final with a composed display under tough conditions.

Chelsea have booked their place in the FIFA Club World Cup final after a 2-0 victory over Fluminense in the semifinal match.

Chelsea’s new signing Joao Pedro marked his very first start in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup sensational fashion, scoring two stunning goals to secure the win. His first came in the 18th minute with a curling strike from the edge of the area, and he doubled the lead in the 56th minute with a powerful counter-attacking finish.

Pedro, a product of Fluminense’s youth academy, showed respect to his former club by not celebrating, raising his hands in apology instead.

Moisés Caicedo was briefly substituted due to discomfort but rejoined the action in the final minutes.

An earlier Fluminense penalty was overturned by VAR. Shortly after, Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella cleared a shot off the line.
