The New York Red Bulls is an American professional soccer club based in the New York metropolitan area. This club competes in Major League Soccer (MLS) as a member of the Eastern Conference.

In 1994, the New York Red Bulls were established and began playing in the league’s inaugural season in 1996 under the name New York/New Jersey MetroStars.

However, in 2006, the team was sold to Red Bull GmbH, and from that day, the team’s name changed to New York Red Bulls as part of the company’s global network of soccer clubs.
