The qualification for North, Central America, and the Caribbean(CONCACAF) is scheduled from 24 March to March 2022 act as CONCACAF qualification Qatar 2022, There are three slots and one inter-confederation play-off slot for the final tournament.
The Original format was constructed by CONCACAF on 10 July 2019 but after initially CONCACAF announced that in March 2018 they will use Ranking Index for qualifying teams to an international tournament.
FIFA World Cup 2022 CONCACAF Qualifiers
The New Format was released by CONCACAF for the new qualification process on 27 July 2020 there are the following processes for the new format.
- First round:- The first round will play a single round-robin and the teams are drawn into six groups of five teams in each. After CONCACAF teams will be ranked between 6 to 35 which is based on the FIFA ranking of July 2020 and the winner of the first round will go for the second round.
- Second round:- Those six winners from the first round they will play in two-legged series means home and away series the winner from the second round then will go for the third round.
- Third round:- Now the winner from the Third round is going to join the top five CONCACAF teams which are based on the FIFA ranking, The three winners from this round will directly qualified for the FIFA World Cup 2022 and the fourth teams will go for the inter-confederation play-off.
