This new controversial decision affects the women’s youth tournaments, and they could be combined to create a single 24-team tournament. FIFA is planning for the main World Cup to expand from 32 to 48 teams for the World cup 2026.
The President of FIFA, Gianni Infantino, discussed this proposal with some members. The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be the 23rd FIFA World Cup. Morocco will be selected for the 2026 FIFA World Cup bid.
