Not only does this tournament crown the top club in the region, but it also serves as an essential qualifier for the 2026 CONCACAF Champions Cup, giving clubs extra incentive and fans more drama than ever

The highly anticipated 2025 CONCACAF Central American Cup will take place in Central America. This marks the third edition of the tournament, which debuted in 2023, replacing the former UNCAF Interclub Cup.

The competition kicks off on July 29, 2025 and concludes with the final on December 4, 2025, spanning a total of six months.

This year, 20 clubs from seven Central American football associations are competing. The teams qualified based on their performance in their respective domestic leagues. The tournament is divided into a Group Stage and a Knockout Stage.

Draw & Structure

The group stage draw, held in Miami on June 3, 2025, used official CONCACAF rankings to seed the teams.

Groups are designed to be balanced, ensuring no more than two teams from the same country are placed together. After home-and-away round robin matches, the top two teams from each group move on to the quarterfinals.

Format of the 2025 CONCACAF Central American Cup

Group Stage

The 20 teams are split into four groups of five. Each team plays four matches—two at home and two away—against the other clubs in their group. The top two teams from each group advance to the next round.

  • Teams: 20 clubs from 7 Central American nations
  • Groups: 4 groups of 5 teams each
  • Matches: Single round-robin (each team plays 4 games)
  • The top 2 from each group advance to the quarterfinals

Knockout Stage

Following the Group Stage, the 2025 CONCACAF Central American Cup knockout rounds feature home-and-away ties. The competition progresses from the Quarterfinals to the Semifinals, and includes Play-In matches for the remaining Champions Cup spots before culminating in the Final.

In each series, the top-ranked club gets the advantage of hosting the second-leg match.

  • 6 clubs will qualify for the 2026 CONCACAF Champions Cup:
