The 2025-26 UEFA Champions League is the second season to use the revolutionary league phase format, replacing the traditional group stage. So, you need to know the 2025-26 UEFA Champions League Matchday Schedule and Standings of the tournaments.
Under this system, all 36 qualified teams compete in a single league table, with each team playing eight matches against eight different opponents.
Each team faces two teams from each of the four seeding pots – one match at home and one away. The matches are distributed across eight matchdays from September 16, 2025, to January 28, 2026.

Qualification Structure
The new format creates multiple pathways to the knockout rounds:
- The top 8 teams automatically qualify for the Round of 16
- Teams ranked 9th-24th enter the knockout phase play-offs (two-legged ties)
- Teams ranked 9th-16th are seeded for the play-offs
- Teams ranked 25th-36th are eliminated from European competition entirely
