Key Season Highlights
Bobby Smyrniotis (Forge FC) became the 2024 CPL Coach of the Year after six nominations, finally claiming his first coaching award despite Forge’s success over the years. Under his leadership, Forge FC remains unbeaten this season with 11 wins and 7 draws.
Tommy Wheeldon Jr. (Cavalry FC) remains the longest-serving manager in the league, having coached Cavalry since the club’s inception in 2018.
He previously won Coach of the Year awards in 2019 and 2023. Under his guidance, Cavalry made history by becoming the first CPL team to defeat a Liga MX side, beating Pumas UNAM in the CONCACAF Champions Cup.
Mauro Eustáquio (York United FC) was named CPL Manager of the Month for July 2025 after guiding York United to a perfect 3-0 record that month. The 32-year-old Portuguese-Canadian manager took over in November 2024.
