Each Women’s Africa Cup of Nations 2026 semifinal match will be played between Morocco, Cameroon, Algeria and Malawi. The specific teams won’t be determined until after all the Quarterfinal matches are complete, but the bracket’s pathway is established.

As the knockout stage of the quarterfinal matches concludes, Morocco has officially secured its place in the final four.

Semifinals Format at WAFCON 2026

The 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) Semifinals follow a straight single-elimination knockout format featuring the final four remaining teams.

  • 16 teams, 4 groups of 4 (A–D).
  • Top 2 in each group (8 teams) advance directly to the Quarter-finals.
  • In the knockout stage, teams follow the Quarter-finals, Semi-finals, Third-place match, and Final. (Note: The four semifinalists also secure automatic qualification for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027).
  • After the semifinals, there’s the third-place match and then the final.
  • The Semifinals therefore feature 2 matches, all one-off knockouts, with extra time and penalties if needed.
