The 33rd edition of Africa Cup of Nations 2021 is scheduled from 9 January to 6 February 2021. Due to sponsors the tournament is known as AFCON, or Total Africa Cup of Nations organized by the Confederation of African Football(CAF).
The tournament is originally scheduled to play in June and July 2021 but the COVID-19 pandemic tournament got postponed from 9 January to 6 February 2022.
The tournament is host by Cameroon with 24 teams are going to play with 6 venues. At final the 24 teams are divided into six groups of four teams each. All teams from each group going to play a single round-robin. On 24 January 2014 the CAF Executive Committee meeting decided that there will be three official candidates for the 2021 edition(Algeria, Guinea, Ivory Coast).

For Africa Cup Nations 2021 tournament they will use six venues within five cities, After the number of teams increase from 16 teams to 24 teams they will use atleast six venues or may be increase.
The Final and the Opening match are set to take place in the newly build stadium Olembe Stadium with 60,000 seater.
