In 2024, international women’s soccer reached a record expenditure of $15.6 million on international transfers, more than doubling the $6.1 million spent in 2023.
The most expensive international transfer of 75 million euros ($78.26 million) was Argentina forward Julian Alvarez’s move from Manchester City to Atletico Madrid.
Paris Saint-Germain was the top-spending European club on international transfers, followed by Manchester United and Olympique Lyon.
English clubs are the highest spenders, investing USD 1.88 billion in incoming transfers while receiving USD 1.34 billion from outgoing transfers.
