The 1970 FIFA World Cup was the 9th staging of the World Cup, the world championship for men national association football teams. This was held in Mexico from 31 May – 21 June 1970 (22 days).

The first World Cup tournament staged in North America. Mexico is a country between the U.S. and Central America. Mexico City hosted the XIX Olympic Games in 1968. The most popular sport in the city associated with the football. It is also its capital and most populous city.

Brazil played Italy in the final and won the match by 4–1, which defeated another two-time former champion. Gerd Muller was most successor player of the tournament.
