The United States women’s national soccer team (USWNT) represents the U.S. in international women’s soccer. USWNT is considered one of the most successful teams in women’s international soccer.
The United States Women’s National Soccer Team has medaled in every World Cup and Olympic tournament in women’s soccer since 1991. but before being knocked out in the quarterfinal of the 2016 Summer Olympics.
The United States Soccer Federation officially governs the USWNT and competes in CONCACAF ( which includes the Confederation of North, Central American, and Caribbean Association football).
The United States women’s national soccer team was selected as the U.S. Olympic Committee’s Team of the Year in 1997 and 1999 also in Sports Illustrated the entire team was 199 Sportswomen of the Year.

The team is in the top position in the Current FIFA ranking. The USWNT mostly ranked at No.2 from 2003 to 2008 in the Women’s FIFA rankings, and from 2008 to 2014 they continuously the No. 1 Women’s FIFA ranking, and were the only team that had the longest consecutive top ranking.
In 2023 Soccer World Cup was not be happy ending for the team. Where top soccer women were participating in the biggest stage of the soccer world but they defected in the round of 16 matches against Sweden by 5–4 after a penalty shootout.
Since 2011, the field has doubled from 16 to 32 teams in the World Cup, the number of games has gone from 32 to just double, and where once you could count the number of legitimate contenders on one hand, now you need all of your fingers and perhaps a few toes as well.
In the Olympic Games and CONCACAF W Championship / CONCACAF W Gold Cup, the US Soccer team won the title and became the most successful international women’s soccer team.
