England national football team

The England national football team represented England internationally and was the first to play an international match in 1872. The Football Association controls England’s national football team.

The body for England is affiliated with UEFA and under the Jurisdiction of world football’s governing body FIFA.

England won the FIFA World Cup in the year 1966 and got fourth place two times in the year 1990 and 2018. And qualified for the World Cup 15 times as England is the oldest national team in football. The FIFA Mens Ranking of England is 5th in June 2024.

Oldest team in football world history it was formed at the same time as Scotland. The first match between England and Scotland was played on 5 March 1870 at Hamilton Crescent in Scotland.

In the year of 1906 England joined FIFA and played their first game against countries other than the Home Nations in 1908.
